Parent Coaching Program for the Family of Troubled Girls
We offer an outstanding parent coaching program that is integrated into the treatment plan of each girl. Re-Creation Retreat’s approach to family restoration is unique. Our belief is that we treat the child and her family as one unit, and therefore we increase the possibility of total restoration.
We help our families thrive through a process of “life coaching“. Life coaching is a therapeutic mentoring approach for families. We combine treatment for the child with supportive coaching for their parents.
As parent coaches our goal is to set up wraparound support system around the entire family from day one. Because of our experience working with troubled teens and their families we know what works. Therefore, we offer parent coaching as a practical support that actually works.
We begin the therapeutic process with the “end in mind”. Meaning, from the very beginning of the treatment we plan for the student’s eventual return home. There is a great deal of ground to cover, and if there is going to be ongoing success after graduation the family’s involvement is paramount.
Preparing the Family for the Eventual Return Home
In the treatment of the child and family we prepare everyone to effectively deal with the inevitable struggles that will come. We prepare the family to cope and deal with problems as they arise. Every problem that comes up during is an opportunity for the family to work together as a whole. By the time the child returns home there is a complete different “family system” in place.
We provide a meaningful parent coaching program that involves therapeutic intervention for the family. We work directly with the parents during their child’s entire enrollment. We also provide support after the child returns home (aftercare support). The goal is long term success, therefore we are committed to the family long after the child has graduated and returned home.
Re-Creation Retreat provides Transition and Aftercare Services to our students and families. We believe that when faced with critical transitions (i.e., going home), the whole family must work together to support each other in the home environment.
For this reason, we include a parent coaching program that is in coordination with treatment professionals back home. We pass the baton back to the family and those who will be supporting the family once the child returns home. This team approach maximizes therapeutic benefits and delivers meaningful results.
